Your excellent photography shows us just what a beating these beautiful lighthouses go through and now, because of neglect and funding issues, these treasures are dying right before our eyes. This has to stop or these magnificent towers will be lost--there is no replacement available, either!

Anne, Thanks and I could not agree more. See my photos here on FAA of the Morris Island Light just outside the entrance to Charleston, SC and near the site of the filming of the movie Glory to see how that one is barely hanging on. This particular lighthouse (North Head) in this image is just north of the mouth of the Columbia River that separates WA & OR states. It actually has the old keepers house available for rental so is even more special.
